Ok, first thing, I am not sure if all valve/source games follow the same html rules. This is because I can't find anything on the internet about it. This idea may or may not be implementable.
Second, this is a mix of a bug report and suggestion.
BUG
When I load in, it is certain that the html/advertisement takes a toll on my PC when loading in. Which takes 5 minutes to load into this server. But that's besides the point.
Upon loading in this time, I received lua error:
[ERROR] addons/git_lfg/lua/autorun/client/cl_pinion.lua:66: attempt to call method 'Close' (a nil value)
1. DoClick - addons/git_lfg/lua/autorun/client/cl_pinion.lua:66
2. unknown - lua/vgui/dlabel.lua:232
From the "Close" and "vgui" I can tell that it may be referring to the html/advertisement when I was trying to close it. For some reason clicking "Continue" does nothing.
Here is picture proof of this bug, when I click continue an error occurs, you can see that in the console:

SUGGESTION
The ads run in the background. This is a suggestion that could help f2p without risking the revenue from the ads (At least this is how I interpret it because nearly every tf2 server with ads have those ads run in the background.) Every time an ad arrives, instead of a window that is always on top of everything else (partially of why I want this to be implemented) and blocks any control besides main menu, console, and interacting with the window; Have it be a window that a player cannot interact with and is in the back. This way the ad is running and the audio comes through.
CONCLUSION
Because I have 0 experience in lua, or coding itself, this may sound crazy. But hopefully you get what I am trying to suggest. This, like I said, may or may not be possible to implement. The developer more than likely knows more about both how to research about lua, and the coding itself. This suggestion is to help the community as a whole.
