For some context I'm in the server a lot recently, and just quietly minding my own business making E2 shit in some isolated corner of the map. I pretty much just do E2 when I play GMod, and I don't use it for minging or anything, as I have spent ages on the server without getting a single warning.

Anyway when this took place the server had around 40 people, everyone complaining about lag, pings well in the two hundreds. I doing my usual E2 stuff in a corner of the map, when the server obviously crashes as the shit was hitting the fan for a while at that point. I rejoin and there's less people and a bit less lag so everything seemed fine, until it crashed again after a short while. The next time I rejoin I'm met with a server message that I've been banned for a week for crashing the server.


My guess is that someone was looking for what the reason for the reason behind the crash, and saw a guy with the E2 label above their head and assumed that was why. I'm sure if logs are checked or whatever you'll see that the E2 never spawned or spammed anything or caused any behavior that would cause a server crash, it was either somebody else, or the server just being very full at that particular time.

We need to figure out a way to make the logs show whether it's left click or right click, because he could have just switched to the tool and opened the menu automatically, and then went out of it to find the right e2 and then back in

I do plan on improving E2 logging, but that will take some time

The Server Crashed two times shortly after you placed down your E2s. The First time, and the Second time...


Also, I didn't wire ban you, due to there being a lot of people on, and there could've been a Link between your E2 and some other lag that Crashed the server...

I have no infuluence here and I haven't seen the logs but Silvor has only been on LFG for a short while, but I doubt it was him. He is trustworthy, at least to me.

Yeah I get that the server crashed after placing down E2s, however I'd say this is probably just because when coding E2 the only way to see if the code is running the way it should is to place it down. This means that I place down and undo E2s quite often, sometimes several times a minute. When it crashed then it doesn't surprise me that I had placed an E2 recently.

As for a link between the E2 and the lag, I don't think that was it in this scenario. Don't get me wrong, an E2 probably wouldn't help with lag anyway, but the E2 I was using wouldn't have even crossed the 10% Max Ops threshold, so it wouldn't lag the server much more than someone placing a single vehicle or npc or something.

The first crash I'd say was definitely because of there being over 40 players. The second one I'm not too sure what it could have been, maybe the sudden workload of all those people rejoining or something
