Okay, so go to your STEAM library... Then right click Gary's Mod > Properties > Local Files (TAB) > Verify Integrity of Game Files... After you complete that process... should work just fine... Lemme know if this helps

I know when a friend and I were having the same issues, we verified the game and then it worked just fine... Did you try rebooting your computer? Maybe as a last resort, you could un-install G-mod and reinstall to see if that fixes it... There may be issues with your computer as well like maybe you have an infection. I would recommend running Malware Bytes and your anti-virus software just to check. It may even be an issue with your internet connection as well. At the very least you could try re-booting your modem/router... In a slightly rare (but possible) case you could be experiencing hardware issues (typically a failing hard-drive)... Edit: Rare in the fact that a failing hard drive would cause this type of software issue. However, hard drives fail all the time and are the most susceptible part to failure in your computer. Hope this helps, - AJ
