PlayX for sbox (to replace media player)

so we all (should) know media player is broken unless you get chromium (chromium messes up url stuff in pac) so we might as well just replace it with playx, its more compact so you dont have to spawn a tv that probably wont fit (its a projector), it doesn't use chromium so anyone can use it, and its overall just a better addon. real talk though, I like the idea, but can it do things like soundcloud links or custom links? the media player can, but can playx do it?

im only suggesting it as a temporary replacement for when the actual chromium update comes out so pac users can actually watch videos without messing up pac because of chromium, also cant you just find music on youtube? it probably supports soundcloud and custom links would be supported if the patch was added also.
EDIT: i checked the steam page and yes it supports soundcloud and up to 10 other providers

if a chromium update is coming that fixes the media player issue, then whats the point? why not just wait? unless it doesn't come out until next year, I think we can wait

the glitch happened pretty long ago so i dont think the fix is gonna come out anytime soon. its time media player gets replaced, theres only 3 sizes of tv's, its really buggy, ect, playx on the other hand projects the video on to surfaces and isnt as buggy since it takes the videos from youtube and plays them in the projector when media player uses an entire browser, its also just more fun for making cinemas with.

People need to install "Adobe Flash Player 13 for Other Browsers" in order for this to work. Not many people have that. Also it doesn't work on Mac or Linux (even though not many people use that). It's easier to switch your Gmod branch to Chromium than it is to install an ancient version of Flash, and you should be using the Chromium branch anyways because it's just better.

When was the last time you tested for this? And can you be more specific about the url stuff it breaks?

last time i downloaded chromium it fucked up all url textures, they turned completely black, ask ancient/toon or any avid pac user
