Uh so I got home after work and I got on my computer and it was one for like one second and it won't turn back one even after over

night and I was looking around on the internet cause I have the stand by light so it means it's getting power but it won't turn on so I

found out it's probably a dead power supply so I'm probably gonna have to replace it so I wont have my computer for a bit. My
computercomputer is my life so I'm really upset

Just get one that looks like it has the same computer plug, with similar voltage settings. For example, if your dead charger is a 100~160V, then get another one of those.

You don't need to get the exact same power supply, any desktop 500w power supply will work.
I somewhat doubt the power supply is at fault if you're getting any kind of lights or signs of life

He has a desktop not a laptop

Was just giving an example that he had to get one with similar voltage settings. I don't have a desktop though, so I don't know if all desktop power supplies have the same plug shapes or not.

Most use the tri-male. And I agree that, if the computer is older, it might not be so easily adaptable to the new power source. I hath learned this the hard way.

No no nooooooooo All Desktop ATX power supplies have the same voltage and same connector. It's idiot proof just don't get a sketchy one and you'll be fine

I've looked it up and people have said that even though there is a standby light on yhe motherboard doesn't mean the power supply is completely functional, it's getting power to it but it's still a dead power supply ot something. And I dont think I can get just any power supply cause my computer has a fan underneath the computer it self which the power supply is the right shape and design to use said slot and if a fan is somewhere else on the new power supply i would think it would be difficult to use

The picture you sent me is just a fan grill so the power supply can pull in air. I'm sure any standard ATX power supply will work as long as it's 500w+. If you haven't tried it yet, unplug the power supply and remove the motherboard battery and let the computer sit for like an hour and plug them back in and see if the computer turns on.

I can try, I'm just worried about frying the computer cause I dont got any anti static wrist band or anything

I took out the battery I'll try in an hour
