Heya, was gonna suggest this a while back but forgot to. This is the Atmos mod, which adds randomized weather effects like rain, storms, even snow, and it has a configurable day/night cycle. Both of these features can be modified quite extensively, and can even be disabled if you want, like say you only want the day/night cycle but not the weather, or vice versa. Either way I think it would be a great addition. I'm suggesting this mainly for Sandbox, but also for DarkRP because that'll add more immersion and the ability to actually schedule things out based on an in-game time. I think it would work out really well for DarkRP because of all the roleplay aspects of the server, I think missing a day/night cycle, and random weather, kinda makes scheduling things harder to do. It would also be nice for Sandbox because I've seen a lot of Sandbox servers have it. There's both server-sided and client-sided console commands, so players with potatoes or toasters for computers can turn off certain features to improve their performance.

tl;dr
This addon would be good for Sandbox and DarkRP cus it's random weather and Day/Night cycle.

+vouch this seems like a cool and unique addition to both servers. And hey, it might actually bring back DarkRp.
hahaha

Based on my testing and research (as in reading comments of the addon), there's been very few performance complaints, so I don't think it would affect FPS too drastically. Plus there's client-sided options to lighten up on some of the effects for people who do have performance hits, to increase their FPS. Even if its not added to Sandbox, I still think it would be great for DarkRP for the reasons stated above, as it would make raids and stuff feel more realistic when done at night versus during a 24/7 day, which is the whole point of roleplaying in the first place.

Yes, because client-side processing of graphics is 100% dependent on the server which is only responsible for telling the client which weather to display.

Ive seen this on an old sandbox server i used to play on and it really does lower the frame rate by a lot. I would have to say no.

We used to have it on DarkRP and Sandbox as well and it was removed for the exact same reason. Unless they magically solved to problem, it won't be added.
