In the sandbox mode of S&box, there's a tab where to can instantly load content from S&works. I think it's limited to props at the moment, but hopefully they expand it to include entities, sweps, etc.

July update post is out a day early https://sbox.facepunch.com/news/july2022

This one is one of the more developer heavy updates. They made improvements to the hammer editor, revamped the 20 year old collision system, and revealed they are working on switching to a different physics system.

They also added more props and clothing.

New edition of S&box is out! https://sbox.facepunch.com/news/august2022

It looks like each of the developers made their own gamemode in one week last month, which is pretty cool:
  • After Dark
  • Last Outpost
  • Socceteo
  • VR Table Tennis
  • Mazing
  • Giant Jigsaw
  • Tower Wars

There were also the regular updates as well:
  • Lighting performance improvements
  • There is a raffle system for getting S&box early access. Not sure exactly how it works
  • Terry's ugly face can now be morphed to support lip syncing and face tracking

S&box update post released yesterday, I'm a bit late: https://sbox.facepunch.com/news/september2022

This was really developer/backend heavy, but there's still some interesting stuff:
  • Glass looks better than ever
  • A very cool Depth of Field effect
  • Lots of Clothing and Hair added for Terry
  • Customizable Citizen Skin
  • Like the video I posted about earlier, they demoed loading Cloud Assets again.
  • It can even be done in Hammer now. Making maps sounds like it's going to be something anyone can do in S&box now.

  • Real-time geometry editing
  • Actual addon system. Previously it was all part of the gamemode
  • Sausage Survivors gamemode
  • Unicycle Frenzy gamemode. This has been in development for a while, I played it a few months back, kind of fun.
  • Super Tumble gamemode
  • Explorer, kind of like F12 in your browser, but for S&box
  • Menu revamp, to support the new addon system
  • Razor UI. This is cool from a web developer perspective because this is the native C# way to make the front end of a website, so there will be lots of resources available for learning how to do this

And even more stuff in the blog, mostly technical improvements.
Very good update, some very big changes this month. Probably won't be as big next month with all the holidays.
